Antibiotics do not cure viral diseases

Contrary to what many people think, the excessive consumption of antibiotics puts the patient's health at risk by exposing him/her to the risk of contracting a drug-resistant bacterial infection or causing adverse reactions, such as nausea, diarrhoea, allergies and vaginal candidiasis, according to Digemid specialists.

The public health authorities explained that both influenza and flu are diseases of viral origin, which affect the nose, throat, bronchial tubes and lungs, therefore, the patient should not self-medicate and resort to the use of antibiotic drugs in favour of a cure. In these cases, it is best to consult a doctor and/or seek the advice of a chemist-pharmacist on the use of medicines.
